In the past couple of weeks the announcement went out that the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Board (NATO C3B) recently adopted both the OMG Unified Architecture Framework™ (OMG UAF®) and The Open Group Archimate (TOG Archimate) as approved metamodels for the NATO Architecture Framework, Version 4. The UAF standard is aimed at improving strategic gaps in communications and interoperability of complex systems of systems among coalition partners.
As long-time contributors to both OMG and The Open Group, the folks at Sparx Services North America are excited to see the recent development in the NATO standard and look forward to the role we can play in helping advance the vision of international collaboration to fruition – driven by architecture.
Sparx Services North America is pleased to offer a comprehensive set of architecture tools, training and consulting offerings in support of the OMG and Open Group standards, including:
- Sparx Enterprise Architect – New and renewal licensing for the industry leading architecture modeling tool used by enterprises and government organizations around the world
- Skills training on UAF and Archimate (as well as DoDAF and UPDM) along with applied lessons on how to implement these standards using Sparx EA.
- Migration assistance (tools and consulting) if this is the right time to upgrade your models from legacy architecture tools (like Troux or System Architect) and leverage the latest capabilities from Sparx.
As practicing architects with decades of experience, we understand that in order for an EA practice to be successful, your tools, processes, and people all need to work together harmoniously. Standards can play a valuable role, but success is all about how you implement them.
