We run Enterprise Architect on our Teamcity Continuous Integration Server so we can update class diagrams on build – or run unit tests for some of our Enterprise Architect integration projects - like AMUSE. Some of this information was already published on our blog about a year ago. First of all you need to install Enterprise Architect on the server and start it once so you are able to enter the license code. Next you need to make sure that the Service - in our case the "build agent" is using an interactive User that can also start Enterprise Architect…

Hints on Recording Sequence Diagrams from .Net Source Code
Written by danielsiegl
Recording Sequence Diagrams with EA is a powerful feature, nevertheless it takes some time to figure out how to do it. This Article is not a full tutorial but it should help you to get started. This content was originally posted on our blog. Lately I been investigating the options Enterprise Architect offers to record Sequence Diagrams from code, because we want to learn for LieberLieber AMUSE. And I found a pretty interesting result: It only takes into account “Classes” and not “Instances”. There are two links that proved helpful – a video tutorial from Sparx Systems and a Blog…

Integrate NUnit into Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect 8
Written by danielsiegl
Enterprise Architect from Sparx Systems allows you to integrate NUnit unit tests into your project. As the new build of EA (8.863) now supports .net 4.0 I revisited this functionality and prepared a little walkthrough. All of this work has been done on Windows 7 x64 with Visual Studio 2010. In order to have as little troubles as possible you have to go for the x86 version of the tools so everything works nicely. As EA is a x86 Application using the x64 Tools will not work. In order run this you need at least NUnit 2.5.5 –…

Creating Diagram Filters within Enterprise Architect
Written by sparxsystems
Diagram Filters allow you to tailor the presentation of diagrams and conduct meaningful comparisons. Dynamic Visual Filtering lets you highlight diagram elements based on selected properties such as Author, Status, Stereotype and Version. Diagram Filters are ideal for comparing 'as-is' and 'to-be' architectures. They can also be used to visualize changes to a model diagram after a given date.

If you consider a use case with one “sunny day” scenario and four “rainy day” scenarios, you can expand that use case into at least five “threads”, each of which defines a potential acceptance test for some part of your system...
