Porfolio Manager Logo Light

Portfolio Manager is a new extension for Enterprise Architect

It provides modellers with a way to work on several different projects in the same model, at the same time. Even if those projects are trying to change the same elements.

With Portfolio Manager, all modellers can have visibility of all projects working in the same parts of the model. Which means:

  • no more competing edits
  • no more working on elements that someone else has planned to delete
  • no more editing the wrong version of an element
  • no more accidental duplicates

Instant impact analyses

Reveal overlaps or potential clashes with other projects, and identify dependencies to be resolved or escalated through your project and program teams.

Real-time updates available all the way through the project – from the very first time you create a branch of the model content you want to change, right through to the final project milestone (at go-live or deployment)

Landscape Heatmaps

Easily identify which parts of the model are most active (where most changes are happening). Analyse by project/portfolio or by element type.

Element level roadmaps

View the roadmap of changes proposed for any element in the model, showing which projects are delivering those changes and which projects are dependent on them.

A time machine for your Enterprise Architect model.

Step forwards through time to discover how your model will look as planned changes deliver, letting you view each architectural plateau as it emerges.

And there's more

More views and use cases are being developed - and you have the opportunity to help guide what comes next, if you

Join the Launch Program

Call for Speakers

Poland - May 2019

Planning is underway for the very first Sparx Systems EA User Group event in Poland.

Date: May 24th, 2019

Call for Speakers - now open

If you have knowledge and experience that you would like to share with other Sparx EA users, we would be delighted to hear from you, with your proposal for a presentation at the next EAUG event in Poland.

We plan to present an interesting agenda - containing good modelling practices, the business value created using Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect and technical insights. There will be two streams of topics:

  • EA@ - for user stories about how EA is being used in your organisation (PS we like to hear stories about what went well and what didn't)
  • #HowTo - describing techniques or approaches that solved particular problems or delivered opportunities

Do you have a topic or story you'd like to share?

We will have set a 'standard' talk duration of 45 minutes, but the venue also gives us the opportunity for TED talk style 'mini-presentations' (max 20 minutes each) or we can double up sessions to make a 90 minute mega-workshop if your material needs time to let everyone dive deeper.

The event will be run in English.

If you want to submit a presentation for the event, please contact the European EA usergroup team with your bio and a brief abstract of your topic. Plus an indication of whether it is suitable for a 20 minute, 45 minute or 90 minute slot.

Closing date for submissions: March 25th

We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Model Management Mountain Summit

     Reserve your place now

Who is it for?

  • Enterprise Architect Model Managers.
  • Learning together and building on each other's ideas & experience
  • Tackling agreed common problems ***.
  • To develop and deliver transferable skills and solutions that you can apply to your models straight away.
  • Think "Davos" for Large Enterprise Architect Models

*** Everyone attending will bring a question for the group, and we will work on answering them together. Here are some ideas to get you started...

  • How can we maintain control of our architecture models?
  • What's the best way to coordinate model contents across programmes and projects?
  • How can we improve the way we do model governance?
  • What can we do to make sure quality doesn't drop as the model grows?
  • What's really going on inside our models?
  • ... [your question here]

When and where will it happen?

BBs from Sugar Loaf

Wednesday February 20th 2019.

  • At the Ability Engineering purpose built meeting venue in the Black Mountains in Wales
  • Your ticket includes fantastic locally sourced and prepared food from Abergavenny - home of the renowned Food Festival.
  • To ease travelling we will start at 10am and finish by 4pm.
  • We can collect you from and deliver you to Abergavenny Rail Station.
  • Contact us for local accommodation or travel recommendations.

What will it cost?

Just £35 per person.

Practical Info

  • We have just 20 places available - to make sure that everyone has the chance to contribute.
  • Ideally just one person from each organisation – to get the widest possible selection of model problems/perspectives.

How will it work?

Beforehand:

Each person coming will submit at least one ‘problem statement’ of a particular aspect of model management in EA that they are grappling with.
Problem statements to include as much supporting information as possible.
These will be accessible by everyone in a private Google group for a few weeks so that everyone can comment/discuss and think about them beforehand.
From the problem statements and discussions, we select 6 that are representative of the whole or of wide interest/application. (Selection date = Thursday 31/01/19)

On the day:

The authors of those 6 problems will give a short (no more than 9 minutes each) presentation to the assembled Summit.
Everyone present votes, and the top 3 are chosen to be workshopped.
We split into teams and each team works on one of the three chosen issues.
Each team comes up with some options/impacts/recommendations and presents back to the whole Summit for review and comment.

And after:

That will be up to you
